Santa is replacing his squad of eight reindeer with one famous, furry companion this Saturday, December 12th, at the Frederick Municipal Airport. Join the man in red and Turbo the Flying Dogat the AOPA National Aviation Community Center at the Frederick Municipal Airport on Saturday between 1pm and 4pm for a chance to get your picture taken with Santa and Turbo, as well as take part in educational activities, story times, and book signings. Don’t miss Santa’s grand entry at 1:15pm when he will arrive by plane! This festive event will feature activities for you and your family, including flight simulators, as well as demos and informational presentations on how to airplanes and hot air balloons fly, aviation navigation, aviation weather, the phonetic alphabet, and aviation radio. Special guests include Sugarloaf Chapter of the Ninety-Nines and the authors of the children’s book series,Turbo the Flying Dog, to raise awareness among the community about both aviation and animal rescue. The stars and authors of the Turbo the Flying Dog series will offer book readings and signings! Other attendees include The Sugarloaf 99s, Frederick County Animal Control, The College Park Aviation Museum, and Tailwinds Over Frederick Hot Air Balloons, The AOPA National Aviation Community Center at the Frederick Municipal Airport is located at 296 Bucheimer Rd.
